What a forklift operator does, and what is checked before the first lift

A forklift operator moves goods that people cannot: unloading containers and trucks, putting pallets away to racking, picking at height, staging outbound loads and feeding production lines, on counterbalance trucks in yards and loading bays, reach trucks in racked warehouses and very narrow aisle trucks in high-density stores. In a UAE distribution centre the operators set the pace of the whole shift, and an untrained one is the most likely cause of a damaged rack, a dropped load or an injured picker.

Operators are checked on three things: a current third-party operator training certificate for the truck type, which most UAE warehouses and all industrial clients require; a practical assessment on the client's own equipment before the first shift, because a certificate says a person was trained, not that they can drive your reach truck in your aisles; and a safety induction covering the site's traffic plan, pedestrian zones and load limits.

tamdeed keeps operators on the bench by truck type, verifies each certificate and its expiry, stores it against the profile in your portal, runs the practical assessment with your supervisor, and supplies the pickers, packers and loaders who work with the operators. Every operator is employed on a MOHRE-registered contract, sponsored and insured by tamdeed, paid through WPS, and checked in at your warehouse with geofenced attendance.

Where forklift operators are deployed

Distribution centres and e-commerce fulfilment

Reach and VNA operators for racked storage and pick faces, counterbalance operators for inbound and outbound, on shifts that scale with volume and peaks.

Ports, free zones and yards

Counterbalance and heavy-capacity operators for container devanning, yard staging and cross-docking in Jebel Ali, KEZAD and the northern ports.

Manufacturing plants

Operators feeding production lines, moving raw material and finished goods, and loading despatch in the Sharjah, Ajman and Dubai Industrial City estates.

Cold stores and food distribution

Operators for chilled and frozen stores, briefed on cold-store working patterns and rotation.

What is included with every worker

The same employment behind every trade. Nothing is bundled into the wage or left off the record.

Registered employment and sponsorship

Employed by tamdeed on a MOHRE-registered contract and sponsored on a residence visa by tamdeed. Your site carries no employment liability.

WPS wages every month

Paid through the Wage Protection System from approved attendance, with overtime at the statutory premium and an itemised payslip in the worker app.

Certificate verified, assessed on your equipment

The third-party operator certificate for the truck type and its expiry are verified and stored against the profile with renewal alerts; every operator passes a practical assessment on your equipment with your supervisor before the first shift.

Medical insurance and documents

Cover from day one; Emirates ID, labour card and medical fitness tracked with expiry alerts in your portal.

Safety induction and PPE

Site safety briefing before the first shift, PPE issued as agreed on the charge sheet, midday break and rest rules enforced by the platform.

Geofenced attendance

Check-in and check-out at your site from the worker app, so the hours you are billed are the hours worked.

Supervision and replacements

A named tamdeed contact, performance notes against each worker, and replacement from the bench when someone does not meet the standard.

One itemised invoice

Wage, government fees at cost, insurance, accruals, transport where agreed and administration on separate lines every month.

From brief to first shift

Workers already on the bench mobilise in days; roles that need recruiting or a new visa take longer, and we say which at the brief.

How a forklift operator rate is built

An operator's monthly rate is the wage for the truck type plus the real costs of employing the worker, plus administration. Reach and VNA operators sit on higher wage lines than counterbalance operators; pickers, packers and loaders on lower ones; the rest of the rate is the same set of lines for every worker.

Peak cover is billed on hours from the attendance record; ongoing shifts on a monthly charge sheet. Government fees change from time to time and are passed through at cost.

Illustrative structure, not a tariff. Live pricing applies to one to ten workers; larger crews receive a custom charge sheet built from the same lines, before you commit.

Questions, answered plainly

What is forklift operator manpower supply?

The supply of certified forklift operators employed and sponsored by a licensed supplier and deployed to a client's warehouse, yard or plant at an agreed rate, usually with the pickers, packers and loaders who work around them. tamdeed verifies certificates, assesses each operator on your equipment, employs them on registered contracts, pays through WPS and bills from a geofenced attendance record.

Are your forklift operators certified?

Yes. Every operator holds a current third-party training certificate for the truck type, verified before mobilisation and stored against the profile with renewal alerts, and passes a practical assessment on your equipment with your supervisor before the first shift.

Do you supply reach truck and VNA operators?

Yes. Counterbalance, reach truck and VNA operators are kept on the bench by truck type; heavy-capacity operators are supplied on request.

Can you supply the pickers and packers with the operators?

Yes, and most warehouses do: operators, pickers, packers, loaders, inventory clerks and a supervisor as one crew on one charge sheet, scaling with volume through peaks.

Do you supply operators for night shifts and peaks?

Yes. Two and three-shift rosters are set in the platform, and peak cover for sales periods and stock counts is billed on hours from the attendance record.

Who is the legal employer?

tamdeed. Operators are employed on MOHRE-registered contracts, sponsored on residence visas and paid through WPS by tamdeed. They report to your warehouse for the work.

How fast can operators start?

Certified operators already on the bench and in the UAE can start within days of an approved charge sheet and the assessment on your equipment. Operators who need recruiting take longer because the visa process sets the pace.

What does a forklift operator cost per month in the UAE?

It depends on the truck type, the roster, the contract length and the headcount. tamdeed itemises the wage, government fees at cost, insurance, gratuity and leave accrual, PPE and transport where agreed, and its own administration line.
