What a steel fixer does, and why the grade matters more here than anywhere
A steel fixer places the reinforcement inside concrete: cutting and bending bar to the bar bending schedule, placing it to the drawing with the right cover, spacing and laps, tying it so it holds through the pour, and fixing the spacers, chairs and couplers that keep it where the engineer put it. On a UAE tower the fixing gang works a floor cycle with the shuttering carpenters ahead of each pour; on infrastructure it works to the pour sequence of the structure.
Reinforcement is inspected before every pour and cannot be corrected after it. A gang that fixes to the wrong cover or spacing costs a day's programme when the inspection fails, which is why the grade matters more here than in most trades. A skilled steel fixer reads the schedule and the drawing, sets out the cage and works unsupervised to it; a semi-skilled fixer ties and places under direction; a helper cuts, carries and bends to instruction.
tamdeed keeps steel fixers on the bench by grade, tests each skilled fixer on a schedule and a cage before they are confirmed to a client, and supplies the helpers and the foreman with the gang. Every fixer is employed on a MOHRE-registered contract, sponsored and insured by tamdeed, paid through WPS, issued PPE, and checked in at your site with geofenced attendance.
Other trades we supply
Every trade page describes the same employment and the same charge sheet; only the work changes.
Where steel fixers are deployed
High-rise structure
Fixing gangs by floor cycle for columns, walls, beams and slabs, working with the formwork gang to the pour programme.
Villas and low-rise
Foundation, column and slab reinforcement by plot, moving with the block work and formwork crews.
Infrastructure and civil
Bridges, culverts, tanks, substations, retaining walls and marine works, often heavy bar and tight cover on long programmes.
Precast and rebar yards
Fixers and cutting and bending machine operators for precast plants and rebar fabrication yards on shifts.
What is included with every worker
The same employment behind every trade. Nothing is bundled into the wage or left off the record.
Registered employment and sponsorship
Employed by tamdeed on a MOHRE-registered contract and sponsored on a residence visa by tamdeed. Your site carries no employment liability.
WPS wages every month
Paid through the Wage Protection System from approved attendance, with overtime at the statutory premium and an itemised payslip in the worker app.
Practical trade test on a schedule
Every skilled steel fixer places and ties a test cage to a bar bending schedule, with cover, spacing and laps checked, before being confirmed to you. Experience and certificates are stored against the profile; you can attend the test.
Medical insurance and documents
Cover from day one; Emirates ID, labour card and medical fitness tracked with expiry alerts in your portal.
Safety induction and PPE
Site safety briefing before the first shift, PPE issued as agreed on the charge sheet, midday break and rest rules enforced by the platform.
Geofenced attendance
Check-in and check-out at your site from the worker app, so the hours you are billed are the hours worked.
Supervision and replacements
A named tamdeed contact, performance notes against each worker, and replacement from the bench when someone does not meet the standard.
One itemised invoice
Wage, government fees at cost, insurance, accruals, transport where agreed and administration on separate lines every month.
From brief to first shift
Workers already on the bench mobilise in days; roles that need recruiting or a new visa take longer, and we say which at the brief.

Skilled, semi-skilled or helper: what a fixing gang is made of
The mix sets whether the cage passes inspection first time.

|---|---|---|---|
| Does | Reads the schedule and drawing, sets out and fixes unsupervised | Places and ties under direction | Cuts, bends and carries to instruction |

How a steel fixer rate is built
A steel fixer's monthly rate is the wage for the grade plus the real costs of employing the worker, plus administration. Skilled fixers who set out and work unsupervised sit on the highest wage line of the gang; helpers on the lowest; the rest of the rate is the same set of lines for every worker.
Gangs are priced by grade with the foreman on his own line. Government fees change from time to time and are passed through at cost.
Illustrative structure, not a tariff. Live pricing applies to one to ten workers; larger crews receive a custom charge sheet built from the same lines, before you commit.

Questions, answered plainly
What is steel fixer manpower supply?
The supply of reinforcement steel fixers employed and sponsored by a licensed supplier and deployed to a client's site as a fixing gang at an agreed rate. tamdeed trade-tests every skilled fixer, employs them on registered contracts, pays through WPS and bills from a geofenced attendance record.
Can your steel fixers read a bar bending schedule?
Skilled fixers can, and are tested on one: they place and tie a cage to a schedule with cover, spacing and laps checked before they are confirmed to you. Semi-skilled fixers work under a skilled fixer or the foreman's direction.
Do you supply the helpers and foreman with the fixers?
Yes. A fixing gang is skilled and semi-skilled fixers, helpers who cut, bend and carry, and a foreman, sized to the pour programme. Each grade is its own wage line on the charge sheet.
Do you supply steel fixers for infrastructure and marine works?
Yes. Heavy-bar fixing for bridges, culverts, tanks, substations and marine structures is supplied on the same terms, often on long programmes in Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates with transport as its own line.
Do you supply steel fixers in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah?
Yes, in every emirate. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah have their own pages because the sites and the logistics differ.
Who is the legal employer?
tamdeed. Steel fixers are employed on MOHRE-registered contracts, sponsored on residence visas and paid through WPS by tamdeed. They report to your site for the work.
How fast can a fixing gang mobilise?
Fixers already on the bench and in the UAE can be on site within days of an approved charge sheet. Where the headcount needs recruiting, or fixers come from abroad on new visas, the visa process sets the pace and we say so at the brief.
What does a steel fixer cost per month in the UAE?
It depends on the grade, the site, the contract length and the headcount. tamdeed itemises the wage, government fees at cost, insurance, gratuity and leave accrual, PPE and transport where agreed, and its own administration line, so a steel fixer quote can be compared like for like.
