What labour supply means in the UAE

Labour supply in the UAE is the provision of workers, usually for site, industrial and operational roles, by a supplier licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to employ people and deploy them to clients. The supplier holds the employment: registered contracts, residence visas, WPS wages, medical insurance and end-of-service liability. The client holds the work: the site, the supervision and the output.

The phrase is used most for construction, infrastructure, industrial and warehouse workforces, where headcount moves with the programme and a contractor does not want to carry visas for people it needs for eight months. Manpower supply is the wider term that also covers hospitality, facilities, sales and office roles; in practice the two overlap and the same licence covers both.

What separates suppliers is the quality of the employment behind the worker. A labourer who is paid late, uninsured or charged a recruitment fee is a risk on your site and a liability under UAE law. tamdeed employs every worker properly and proves it in the portal: the WPS record, the insurance, the document expiries and the attendance are all there to be inspected.

  3. 3

    Charge sheet

Every monthly line shown and approved in your portal. Government fees at cost.

  4. 4

    Mobilise and track

Induction, transport where agreed, geofenced attendance from day one, payroll and invoices running on the platform.

What a labour supply rate contains

A per-worker monthly rate is the wage plus the costs of employing the worker plus the supplier's administration. On a tamdeed charge sheet each of those is a separate line, so a low headline number cannot hide an unpaid insurance or an unaccrued gratuity.

Hourly and daily rates are the same monthly cost divided by the contracted hours. A standard 48-hour week is about 208 hours a month; overtime above the contracted hours is paid to the worker at the statutory premium and billed at the rate agreed in the charge sheet.

Short cover is the same monthly cost divided by fewer hours, which is why an hourly rate looks higher and is not more expensive per month.

Questions, answered plainly

What is the difference between labour supply and manpower supply?

Labour supply usually means site, industrial and operational workers; manpower supply is the wider term that also covers hospitality, facilities, sales and office roles. Both describe the same arrangement: a licensed supplier employs the workers and deploys them to the client. tamdeed supplies both.

Which emirates do you supply labour in?

All seven: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, including the industrial zones and free zones within them.

Are supplied workers on your visa or ours?

On tamdeed's. Every supplied worker is employed by tamdeed on a registered contract and sponsored on a residence visa by tamdeed. Your site carries no employment or visa liability for them.

Do you provide daily-wage or short-term labour?

Yes. Short cover for a shutdown, a peak or a project phase is priced as a short-term contract, and the rate reflects the length. Very short engagements are billed on hours from the geofenced attendance record.

How are overtime and the midday break handled?

Overtime is computed from approved attendance at the statutory premium under UAE labour law and shown on the payslip and the invoice. During the summer midday break period, outdoor work is stopped in the prohibited hours and the record is kept on the platform.

What safety and vetting checks are done?

Identity, right to work and experience are verified; trade tests are run where the role needs them; a site safety induction is given before the first shift; PPE is issued as agreed. Certifications are stored against the worker's profile with expiry alerts.

Can we scale the team up and down?

Yes. Headcount changes are requested in the portal and priced from the same charge sheet. Ramping down at the end of a phase does not leave you holding visas or settlements; tamdeed carries them.

What does labour supply cost in the UAE?

It depends on the trade, the emirate, the contract length, the shift pattern and the headcount. Rather than quote a single number, tamdeed itemises the wage, the amortised government fees at cost, insurance, gratuity accrual, any PPE or transport, and its own administration line, so you can compare it with any other quote like for like.
